Quantum Computing, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence– it seems like the newest and greatest technology is being invented on a daily basis. Today, we will be discussing everything you need to know about ChatGPT.
What Is ChatGPT?
Developed by OpenAI and launched in November 2022, ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot. If you have ever visited a website, and you were welcomed by a pop-up asking if they can be of assistance, then you’ve already had some experience with an AI Chatbot.
“Our model, called GPT-2 (a successor to GPT), was trained simply to predict the next word in 40GB of Internet text. Due to our concerns about malicious applications of the technology, we are not releasing the trained model. As an experiment in responsible disclosure, we are instead releasing a much smaller model for researchers to experiment with, as well as a technical paper.” – OpenAI

One of the major differences between Chatbots and ChatGPT, is that while Chatbots can carry out tasks that would usually need a person, ChatGPT can converse like a human. Thus, creating a more pleasant experience for the website user.

Most commonly, Chatbots can request for users to merely submit their email address. Meanwhile, ChatGPT can create more personalized messages depending on the user and their history. This has several benefits for companies whose websites are based on selling products or services. For example, “Do you have questions about Product 123?”, may be exactly what needs to be asked to save a sale.
Benefits of ChatGPT
While ChatGPT is still relatively new in the grand scheme of things, it is easy to see its benefits. Some of these benefits include:
Boost Engagement
One of which, is that with the knowledge acquired by ChatGPT, companies will have better insight into how to target their website’s visitors. This includes creating posts that will boost engagement and better connect with potential clients and/or customers.
We have all experienced cold, impersonal, and sometimes repetitive chatbot conversations. Instead of it being beneficial and keeping the customer’s attention, it can become deterring. In fact, it can be the reason that there is a loss of customer interest or a high bounce rate.
It’s clear that there is a delicate balance between what Chatbots and ChatGPT offer. However, in time and with some trial and error, ChatGPT will become far more advanced than what chatbots have grown to be.
ChatGPT Saves Time
One of the more significant benefits of Chat GPT is that it can automate tasks. By doing so, users are able to quickly get the information they are looking for. After all, it’s true what they say, “Time is money!”. The faster the user finds a solution or an answer to the questions, the better.
Thanks to ChatGPT, some of the more popular AI-generated content includes written codes, product descriptions, blog posts (this post not included, of course), email drafts, translations, summaries, social media posts, and many more. It goes without saying that by having ChatGPT work its magic, it will help companies to spend their time focusing on more pressing matters.
Offers Plug-Ins and Integrations
The fact that ChatGPT offers plug-ins and integrations is highly advantageous to all who use it. It has already been integrated into several apps, plug-ins and interfaces. This includes ClickUp, Facebook Messenger, Slack, Notion, Microsoft Teams, Google Slides, Zoom, Spotify, and many others. This opens the door for users to be as productive as possible across programs that are already regularly used.
ChatGPT isn’t being made solely for the benefit of those in the tech industry. Anyone can use ChatGPT to help grow their brand and/or business. Artists, musicians, shop owners- arguments can be made for the benefits of ChatGPT across each and every industry.
There Is Much To Be Learned
The benefits of ChatGPT are very apparent. As with every new technology, it is important to understand that there are a few things that need some adjustments.
Via Twitter
The primary disadvantage of ChatGPT, is that it doesn’t get all of the information right 100% of the time. As shown above, the CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, tweeted, “ChatGPT is incredibly limited, but good enough at some things to create a misleading impression of greatness. it’s a mistake to be relying on it for anything important right now. it’s a preview of progress; we have lots of work to do on robustness and truthfulness.”.
Keep in mind, this was tweeted at the end of 2022. We all know how quickly technology can advance and change! OpenAI also acknowledges the fact that there may be cyber security issues. Most likely, these won’t always be disadvantages; technology improves every day. They are just a couple of things to be aware of before integrating ChatGPT into daily use.
